I went and saw the Aviator on Saturday, and I totally loved it. I mean, there wasn't really a moral to the story... I didn't really learn anything from it, to be honest. But with the acting done by Leonardo DiCaprio; it didn't matter. At different points in the movie, I wanted to slap him, to hug him, to laugh with him, and to clap for him. He was an amazing inventer and an eloquent speaker, but he took advantage of teenage girls. But he was a sad case, because he was completely INSANE.
I have to say that was one of the best acting jobs I have ever seen. Everyone in that movie did phenomenally. It made me think about how different people can seem in the privacy of their own homes. How they can be this great inventor in the public eye, but can be tortured and insane for real.
Kind of a scary thought. How many people do we THINK we know?
